Available Now

The day has arrived, Hidden Book 2 is finished, published and available to buy on Amazon or to order through your local book shop.
My website is currently being updated and, soon I hope to be able to offer the books through the website too.

I hope that you enjoy following Florence on her further adventures.

The Hidden series is set in a Midlands town in England as the 1980’s come to an end.

Florence has left nursing to become the private investigator of her dreams but, after working for a year with Arthur Renishaw and seeing the reality of life as a PI, happily she accepts her position as office manager in Renishaw Private Investigation Services. Florence may not be undertaking surveillance or actively investigating, but by listening to people in her unobtrusive way, she helps: Corinna, a pregnant young girl; Eunice, searching for her grandchild; Mildred, looking for her mother; and Helen, trying to preserve her own life while protecting her alcoholic mother.

But primarily Florence wants to be there for her friend Dawn, whose sister Andrea is struggling to come to terms with the discovery that Geoffrey, her husband, is gay

A big thank you to those who have reviewed my previous books, I love to hear what you think. Please post a review on Amazon if you feel able or simply post a comment on this blog.

Book 1 of the Hidden Series

In other news:

Praising UK government websites is not something that you will often find me doing (especially as the usual reason for accessing the website is tax). But last year when I renewed my passport via the website in September, I received the new passport to my address in France within three weeks. Excellent service.

In the New Year I somehow managed to lose my passport (don’t ask). The positive that came out of this was that, while I was looking for it, the entire apartment got an early spring clean. Sadly the search was to no avail.

On 4th February I cancelled my passport and reapplied for a new one. I didn’t pay any extra for the it to be expedited nor did I plead any extenuating circumstances, but within six days I had confirmation that it had been printed and on the 12th February it was delivered to me.  A big thank you for such an efficient and painless resolution to a self inflicted problem. So thank you www.gov.uk

Fete du Citron

It feels as though the world has come to Menton, to celebrate everything citrus. Crowds are busy buying lemon related products: crockery, candles, coasters, chocolates to be carried in lemon decorated tote bags; drinking lemon juice, lemon flavoured beer, lemon cocktails  to wash down lemon chicken and tarte au citron;  great groups follow flag carrying guides through the streets, stopping in places to cause maximum disruption to anyone who is trying to get anywhere; coaches line the streets outside the old town bringing day trippers to enjoy the parades on Sunday afternoons and then crawl at a snails pace to return their cargo of weary wanderers to Germany, Switzerland, Italy... But smiles are everywhere, restaurants are full, the sun is shining (most of the time), the sea is blue...

There are loads of pictures on the website: https://www.fete-du-citron.com  Take a look.

Life is good!
